Topic: The Church, Unity Passage: Titus 2:1–10

Titus 2:1-10 New American Standard Bible (NASB)

Duties of the Older and Younger

2 But as for you, speak the things which are fitting for sound doctrine. 2 Older men are to be temperate, dignified, sensible, sound in faith, in love, in perseverance.

3 Older women likewise are to be reverent in their behavior, not malicious gossips nor enslaved to much wine, teaching what is good, 4 so that they mayencourage the young women to love their husbands, to love their children, 5 to be sensible, pure, workers at home, kind, being subject to their own husbands, so that the word of God will not be dishonored.

6 Likewise urge the young men to be sensible; 7 in all things show yourself to be an example of good deeds, with purity in doctrine, dignified, 8 sound inspeech which is beyond reproach, so that the opponent will be put to shame, having nothing bad to say about us.

9 Urge bondslaves to be subject to their own masters in everything, to be well-pleasing, not argumentative, 10 not pilfering, but showing all good faith so that they will adorn the doctrine of God our Savior in every respect.

John 4: 13-14 Jesus answered and said to her,“Everyone who drinks of this water will thirst again; but whoever drinks of the water that I will give him shall never thirst; but the water  that I will give him will become in him a well of water springing up to eternal life.”

Titus 2:15

15 These things speak and exhort and reprove with all authority. Let no one disregard you.

John 4:39

39 From that city many of the Samaritans believed in Him because of the word of the woman who testified, “He told me all the things that I have done.”

John 4:40

40 So when the Samaritans came to Jesus, they were asking Him to stay with them; and He stayed there two days.

John 4:41

41 Many more believed because of His word;

John 4:42

42 and they were saying to the woman, “It is no longer because of what you said that we believe, for we have heard for ourselves and know thatthis One is indeed the Savior of the world.”

Joshua 23:14

Now behold, today I am going the way of all the earth, and you know in all your hearts and in all your souls that not one word of all the good words which the Lord your God spoke concerning you has failed; all have been fulfilled for you, not one of them has failed.

James 5:10

10 As an example, brethren, of suffering and patience, take the prophets who spoke in the name of the Lord. James 5:10

James 5:11

11 We count those blessed who endured. You have heard of the endurance of Job and have seen the outcome of the Lord’s dealings, that the Lord is full of compassion and is merciful.

Romans 5:3-5

And not only this, but we also exult in our tribulations, knowing that tribulation brings about perseverance; and perseverance, proven character; and proven character, hope; and hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out within our hearts through the Holy Spirit who was given to us.

Luke 2:36 And there was a prophetess, Anna the daughter of Phanuel, of the tribe of Asher. She was advanced in years and had lived with her husband seven years after her marriage,

Luke 2:37 and then as a widow to the age of eighty-four. She never left the temple, serving night and day with fastings and prayers.

Luke 2:38 At that very moment she came up and began giving thanks to God, and continued to speak of Him to all those who were looking for the redemption of Jerusalem.
